  • for the past two years the entire world has been debilitated by the onslaught of an unprecedented pandemic. shut indoors in fear and uncertainty, normal life has been suffocated for far too long. we have suffered ravages in every aspect of our existence. in its 69th year suruchi sangha, heartened by UNESCO’s prestigious recognition of our favourite festival, has pledged to pray for a return to health and happiness. our impassioned plea: deliver us from darkness to light, o Mother of all creation. our installation this year invites the viewer into a circular structure where, apart from paying tribute to the goddess, one will find oneself amidst nature. carefully planned illumination and design will recreate the skies and celestial bodies, the birds and foliage, seas and storms. in other words, they will find themselves back in their familiar world, healed of disease and despair.
